LAS VEGAS - A total of 34 UNLV student-athletes from four sports were named to the 2005 Fall Semester Academic All-Mountain West Team, the league announced Wednesday.
Women's soccer led the way with an impressive 14 members, which was the most of any school in the conference. Rebel volleyball was next with 10, which tied Utah for most in that sport among the nine MWC programs. Seven UNLV football players made the list while three cross country runners were honored.
To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.
