TEMPE, Ariz. - UNLV women's track and field team was led by its sprinters Saturday at the ASU Invitational held at Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium on the campus of Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz.

Five different Rebels finished in the top 10 in running events, with the highlight coming in the 100 meters, as three UNLV runners were in the top 10 in the standings. Lekeisha Lawson finished second (11.97), Lauren Johnson was sixth (12.19) and Tanesha Carr came in seventh (12.22). Johnson added a fifth in the 200 meters (24.91) with Lawson coming in eighth (25.17).

Brittney Bullocks came in sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 56.70 and Ashley Patin finished ninth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.09 to round out the sprinters who had top-10 marks. In the relays the Rebels won the 4x100, with Lawson, Johnson, Bullocks and Carr combining to cover the track in 45.74. UNLV also took fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:50.20.

Away from the track Kenya Polee had UNLV's only top-10 finish in a field event, placing ninth in the long jump with a leap of 17'-0.75"

The Rebels continue their outdoor season next weekend, hosting the UNLV Invite this coming Saturday at Myron Partridge Stadium and Sheila Tarr-Smith Field. It will be the Rebels only home meet of the year.
