LAS VEGAS - The Mountain West Conference announced its 2006-07 men's basketball television schedule on Thursday and UNLV is slated to appear on CSTV: College Sports Television, the Mountain West Sports Network (the mtn.) or VERSUS (currently OLN until Sept. 25) at least 21 times this season.
UNLV is the only MWC school to have every league game this season scheduled to appear on television and the Runnin' Rebels are also slated to be the first MWC men's basketball team to have a game shown as they will open the MWC television schedule at home against Hawaii on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. on the mtn.
Other UNLV non-conference games scheduled for the MWC TV package are San Francisco at UNLV on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. (the mtn.), Minnesota at UNLV on Friday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. (the mtn.) and UNLV at Houston on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. PST (CSTV).
The announcement of the television schedule by the MWC reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of the mtn. The mtn. is the first ever 24-hour sports network devoted exclusively to a single conference. The mtn. will not only broadcast live games, but will air a variety of studio shows, including pre and postgame shows, which break down MWC games, look ahead to the big games on the horizon and feature extensive game highlights.
The first round and quarterfinal MWC Tournament games will appear on the mtn. Semifinal matchups and the championship game are listed as TBD.
