EL CAJON, Calif. - UNLV senior golfer Matt Kinsinger shot a second-round 4-under-par 68 and is in third place at 1-over 145 after the first 36 holes of play at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational, which was played Monday at Willow Glen Course at Sycuan Resort (par 72, 6,687).

Kinsinger trails UC Riverside's Nick Paez and San Diego State's Jerry Porras by one shot. Paez and Porras are tied for the lead at even-par 144.

UNLV, which is not competing in the event as a team, sent four individuals to compete. Senior Brandon Loska is tied for 12th at 6-over 150 (74-76), C.J. Gatto is tied for 54th at 12-over 156 (79-77) and Brett Kanda is tied for 69th at 14-over 158 (80-78).

San Diego State leads the 17-team field by six shots at 18-over 594.

The tournament's final round of 18 holes is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.
