LAS VEGAS - Host UNLV will have an entry in both the singles and doubles championships in the main draw of the annual Rebel Classic Men's Tennis Tournament, which continued Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Sophomore Luca Barlocchi downed Davey Sendgren of Tennessee 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the semifinals to advance. He will take on another Volunteer, Boris Conkic, who ousted top seed Elliot Wronski of UNLV 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.
In doubles, second-seeded Wronski and Wesley Burrows won their quarterfinal match 8-5 over Flavio Mollinedo and Siddharth Alapati of Fresno State. They then won by default over teammates Matt Kunkel and Bryan Miller to move into the final where they will face Conkic and Davey Sandgren of UT.
Sunday's doubles final will begin at 9 a.m. and the singles championship will follow. Admission is free of charge.
"It's good to have UNLV represented in both the singles and doubles finals," UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook said. "However, we have a tough match ahead of us vs. opponents from Tennessee. We plan on finishing the weekend strong."
