LAS VEGAS - Just prior to the UNLV men's basketball team's season-opener this Friday against Montana State at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center, a banner honoring the accomplishments of the 2006-07 squad will be unveiled.

Before the teams are introduced on Friday, a ceremony will honor last year's team and a banner highlighting UNLV's MWC Tournament Championship and run to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 in March will be displayed.

The season-opener is also part of a ticket special that the athletics department is offering where fans can enjoy two sports for the price of one in celebration of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday.

For only $10, fans can see the Montana State-Runnin' Rebel basketball game (balcony ticket) and also will get a sideline seat to watch the Rebel football team take on San Diego State on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium. In honor of Veterans Day, the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team will perform at halftime of the football game.

Fans can get the Veterans Day Special by calling (702) 739-FANS or by visiting the Thomas & Mack Center ticket office. The special is also available from the ticket office at the Runnin' Rebel game on Friday.

Before the Runnin' Rebels host Montana State, the UNLV women's basketball team will host Long Beach State for its season-opener at 5 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
