SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii - The No. 7 (Golfweek ratings) UNLV men's golf team matched its first-round score with another 11-under 277 during Thursday's second round at the John Burns Intercollegiate played at Leilehua Golf Course (par 72, 6,918 yards) and leads the field by 10 shots at 22-under 554 through 36 holes.
BYU remains in second place at 12-under 564 after shooting a second-round 3-under 285. The Cougars trail the Rebels by 10 shots.
Texas A&M and San Diego State are both tied for third at 7-under 569, while Auburn, Denver and Colorado State are all tied for fifth at 3-under 573, 19 shots behind the Rebels. The tournament is made up of 22 teams.
UNLV's Jarred Texter shot a second-round 7-under 65 and is tied for the tournament's individual lead at 10-under 134 with SMU's Frank Wrenn, who is competing as an individual. Wrenn shot 5-under 67 during both the first and second rounds.
Eddie Olson and Seung-Su Han are the other Rebels in the top 10 as both shot second-round 2-under 70s. Olson is tied for sixth at 6-under 138, while Han is tied for eighth at 5-under 139.
Other UNLV second-round scores and totals: Matt Kinsinger, even-par 72, tied for 25th at 1-under 143; C.J. Gatto, even-par 72, tied for 54th at 2-over 146.
The tournament will conclude on Friday with 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m. HST.
