White Named All-District

LAS VEGAS - UNLV men's basketball senior Wendell White has been selected as a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Division I All-District Teams, which were announced by the NABC on Wednesday.

White was honored by being named to the All-District 15 Second Team along with New Mexico State's Justin Hawkins, Arizona's Ivan Radenovich and Chase Budinger and UC Santa Barbara's Alex Harris.

White, a 6-6 guard/forward, leads UNLV this season in scoring and rebounding with 15.1 ppg and 6.6 rpg. He is second on the team in steals and is shooting 51.8 percent from the field this year. White is fourth in the MWC in rebounding and 10th in scoring.

White has scored in double figures in 22 games this season, including 20 or more points eight times and a career-high 30 points in January at Wyoming. He has recorded six double-doubles in points and rebounds this season.

The NABC All-District 15 First Team consists of UCLA's Aaron Afflalo and Darren Collison, Cal State Fullerton's Bobby Brown, USC's Nick Young and Arizona's Marcus Williams.

The NABC Division I All-District Teams recognize the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 150 student-athletes from the 15 districts are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-America team, which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2006-07 NCAA men's basketball season.
