Feb. 3, 2007

LAS VEGAS - The 66th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team rebounded from being upset earlier in the day by defeating Montana State 5-1 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday.

The Rebels improved to 2-2 after winning all but one singles match. Doubles play was canceled.

Sophomore Elliot Wronski rallied to defeat Kyle McDonald at the top position, 2-6, 6-0, 6-4. Also winning for the hosts was Wesley Burrows at No. 3, David Campbell at No. 4, Luca Barlocchi at No. 5 and Slavko Bijelica on court six.

"I was proud of the way our guys bounced back to finish the weekend on a positive note," UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook said. "We have a tough road trip ahead so we need a good week of practice."

UNLV is next in action next Saturday when it travels to take on San Diego and then faces defending national champion Pepperdine a day later.
