LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's swimming and diving team won its third straight meet to close out the regular season, 131-109 over New Mexico on Saturday afternoon from Buchanan Natatorium. The Rebels finished their dual meet season with a 6-4 overall record, and 5-3 in league action.

UNLV claimed first place swims in nine of the first 10 events, and went 1-2-3 in four of the events to jump out to a big lead before exhibitioning its swimmers in the last four events.

Seven Rebels all won one event each for the day. Lani Seaman won the 1000 free in 10:10.11, while Kari Nettenstrom took the 200 free in 1:54.78, and Amanda Weinbrecht was first in the 100 back in 58.14. Kim Bonney took the 100 breast in 1:06.03, Katie Wronn swam to first in the 50 free in 23.83, and Marina Sandback posted a time of 51.13 in the 100 free to take first. The final win came in the 100 fly, thanks to a time of 59.77 from Sarah Finley.

UNLV took both relays as well. Weinbrecht, Bonney, Sandback, and Lauren Browning were first in the 400 medley relay in 3:52.51, while Wronn, Bonney, Browning, and Sandback teamed up for a time of 1:34.96 in the 200 free relay.

Both the Rebels' men's and women's squads are now off until the 2007 Mountain West Conference Championships, held in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Feb. 21-24. The UNLV men are looking for its third-straight MWC title, while the UNLV women will look for a second championship victory in three years.
