LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's tennis team sent its two seniors out with a 4-0 victory over New Mexico State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
The Rebels won their third consecutive match to improve to 7-9 while the Aggies fell to 5-8 overall.
UNLV began the day by taking the top two doubles matches for one team point. Senior Brett Hunter teamed with Elliot Wronski at the top position for an 8-6 win and senior Jonathan Hooper paired with Wesley Burrows for an 8-6 victory at on court two.
In singles, 59th-ranked Wronski improved to 11-4 in dual matches with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Roman Stoisavljevic at the No. 1 position. Also winning in straight sets was a pair of Rebel freshmen: Slavko Bijelica, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 5 and Luca Barlocchi on court six.
Because of NMSU's travel plans, the remaining matches were halted after the hosts clinched the victory with four points.
The Rebels will close out their non-conference schedule with a trip to No. 7 Southern California on Friday at 2 p.m.
