LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's track and field will be competing in its third-straight meet as the Rebels will be in Fresno, Calif., for the Cal-Nevada Championships, a two-day meet that begins Friday.
UNLV will be part of a 20-team field competing in the annual event which will be hosted by Fresno State for a third-straight year and will take place on Warmerdam Field. Two years ago the Rebels finished second overall at the meet and they did not participate in last year's event.
Friday's action gets underway with the men's hammer at 9:30 a.m. (PST) with the women's 1,500 meters at 12:30 p.m. (PT) and the first track event. All of those events are preliminaries for Saturday's finals. Competition on Saturday will get underway at 10:00 a.m. with the men's hammer while the first event on the track is 4x100 meter relay final at 2:15 p.m.
Following the Cal-Nevada Championships, the Rebels will take the next weekend off before competing in the Mt. Sac Relays on April 12-14 and the Pacific Coast Invitational on April 13. Both meets will take place in California.
