New Season Ticket Orders Being Taken

Aug. 13, 2007

LAS VEGAS - New orders for season tickets for the 2007-08 UNLV men's basketball campaign are now being taken by calling the Rebel Athletic Fund office at 702-895-1533, the athletics department announced Monday.

Season ticket renewals are currently being processed as current season ticket holders have until September 14 to renew their accounts. After Sept. 14, seating for new season ticket orders will be processed based on the date of orders received.

Season ticket prices for the 19-game home schedule are $450 for plaza level tickets, $280 for dugout and $165 for balcony. A Rebel Athletic Fund donation is also required for certain seat locations.

Contests against Louisville and Nevada, Reno, the continuation of a four-year series with Arizona and the Duel in the Desert highlight the 2007-08 non-conference home schedule. Mountain West Conference action begins at home on January 15 against BYU.

Single game tickets will go on sale on October 15. Prices for the Arizona, Louisville and Nevada, Reno games are $36 for plaza and $18 for balcony. All other games at the Thomas & Mack Center during the regular season are priced at $30 for plaza and $14 for balcony.

The Dec. 8 game against Fresno State at the Orleans Arena is not part of UNLV's season ticket package. The game will be sold as a single-game ticket for $35. The capacity of the Orleans Arena for this game will be approximately 7,700. The availability of tickets for the general public will be handled by UNLV Athletics and will be determined once RAF members, season ticket holders, UNLV students and sponsors have had the opportunity to purchase tickets to this game. Any remaining tickets will be made available on a date to be announced

The Runnin' Rebels are led by head coach Lon Kruger, who is entering his fourth season at UNLV after compiling a three-year mark of 64-34. His squad won the Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship in March, finished with a 30-7 overall record and made a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance - the program's first in 16 years.

Additionally, UNLV was 19-1 at home in 2006-07, including ending the season with 17 straight wins at the Thomas & Mack Center, which ties for the 10th-longest active streak in the country. UNLV was ranked 14th in the nation in the final edition of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.

UNLV finished in second place in the MWC during the regular season last year with a 12-4 conference mark. The 2007-08 Runnin' Rebels return one starter off last year's squad in junior Wink Adams and seven other letterwinners. Curtis Terry and Corey Bailey are the team's lone seniors.

"Our non-conference schedule this year will be very competitive and we are extremely excited about it," Kruger said. "It will prepare us well for the conference season and is also attractive for our fans. We need their assistance in keeping our home win streak alive and helping us transition the effects of the crowds from last season into this season.

"Last year the crowds at our home games evolved into a great home court advantage for us and really impacted the outcome of games, especially late in the season and we need to pick that up right from the beginning this fall."
