Sept. 15, 2007

SAN DIEGO - The Rebels, who were back in California for the second straight weekend, finished 12th as a team at the SDSU Aztec Invitational Saturday. The finish marks the second consecutive year that the Rebels came in 12th in San Diego.

Leading the way for UNLV for the second time in as many weeks was Charlotte Browning. Jenni Shearer was the second-best finisher for the Rebs, as she completed the course in 20:12, good for 83rd place.

#4 ranked Arkansas topped the team list, placing six runners in the first nine finishers. USC's Sarah Cocco took the individual title with a time of 17:43.

Ashley Silva was right behind Shearer, coming in 86th place with a time of 20:20. Jessica Heil finished the trek in 21:15, Laura Lundin came in next with a time of 21:31, and Kristen Shell clocked a 22:31.

UNLV is off next weekend, but is back at it Saturday, Sept. 29 when it travels to Riverside, Calif. for the UC Riverside Invitational.
