LAS VEGAS - A UNLV player won the championship at all three singles flights to go with yesterday's three doubles crowns to complete an impressive sweep of the 2007 UNLV Women's Tennis Fall Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday.

For the weekend, UNLV players went a combined 20-3 in singles and doubles.

Senior star Elena Gantcheva won her third career singles title of her program's home event by downing teammate Katy Williams 6-1, 6-3. Standing third in career singles wins at UNLV, Gantcheva improved to 86-26 overall.

Freshman Anna Maskaljun moved to 3-0 in her young career with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory over Marta Marcinkowska of Tulsa to take the second flight.

Another UNLV rookie, Adrienn Hidvegi, earned the flight three honors with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win over Orsi Golovics of Northern Arizona.

"This was obviously a great start to our year, especially considering that you are competing against some strong teams," UNLV head coach Kevin Cory said. "To win all six titles says a lot about where the team is at this time of year. It's nice to see Elena getting back to her top form and her leadership is going to be key this season. Also, our new players Katy, Anna and Adrienn all had great opening performances."

Next up is a trip to the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Gantcheva will compete in the qualifying draw starting Tuesday while she and teammate Krisitina Nedeltcheva will open in the main draw of doubles on Thursday.
