LAS VEGAS - Southern California's Amanda Fink held off North Carolina's Katrina Tsang 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 to earn the main draw singles title at the sixth annual Freeman Memorial Women's Tennis Championships, which concluded Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Florida's Lolita Frangulyan won the second flight championship with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over ASU's Jessica Leitch.
In doubles play, Stanford's Jessica Nguyen and Whitney Deason took the top prize with an 8-2 win over North Carolina's duo of Tsang and Austin Smith. The Cardinal also took the second flight with an 8-4 victory by Jennifer Yen and Lejla Hodzic over ASU's Ashlee Brown and Lauren Megale.
Two players from host UNLV competed in added singles matches on Sunday. Nikol Dimitrova won her match over Mimi Songsermsawas of Oregon 6-1, 6-4 while Elena Gantcheva, who is battling an injury, retired after falling behind Amanda McDowell of Georgia Tech 6-3, 4-1.
With the Freeman marking the end of individual tournament play, the Lady Rebels open their dual-match season on Jan. 25 by hosting Pacific beginning at 10 a.m. PT.
