After defeating UTEP, 80-67, on Monday night in El Paso, Texas, in its first road game of the season, UNLV has opened the season 5-0 for the first time in nine seasons. Next up for the Runnin' Rebels are the third and championship rounds of the Global Sports Classic, which will take place with four games on Friday, Nov. 28 and four more on Saturday, Nov. 29. The eight teams converging at the Thomas & Mack Center are: Coastal Carolina, North Carolina A&T, Texas-Pan American and Western Illinois in the afternoon sessions, and California, Cincinnati, Florida State and UNLV in the evening sessions. All evening-session teams are undefeated and a combined 18-0. UNLV will host California on Friday at 5 p.m. and will face either Cincinnati or Florida State on Saturday at either 5 or 7:30 p.m. depending on Friday's outcomes. The first and second round of the tournament were held at home sites.
