LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Alexandra Bejinariu was named the Counsilman Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week, it was announced by Collegeswimming.com on Wednesday.

Bejinariu, a native of Pitesti, Romania, won two events and earned a second place finish in the Rebels' 165-126 win at UC Irvine on Dec. 13. She won the 100 breast in a time of 1:06.28, took the 200 breast in 2:25.24, and was second in the 200 IM in 2:10.25.

UNLV, 2-3 on the year, will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 6 against TCU in Las Vegas at 4 pm.
