LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Wink Adams had 16 points and five assists to lead UNLV past Santa Clara 78-66 on Wednesday night.

Rene Rougeau added 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

UNLV (9-2) led 42-28 at halftime after shooting 50 percent from the floor. The Rebels extended the lead to 22 late in the second half and never trailed.

John Bryant led Santa Clara (5-5) with 12 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks. Kevin Foster added 14 points for the Broncos and James Rahon scored 13.
