LAS VEGAS - Junior standout Elliot Wronski picked up his second ranked win of the weekend but it was not enough to prevent the 75th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team from losing 5-2 to No. 73 San Diego at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The Rebels dropped to 2-3 while the Toreros improved to 2-3.

Wronski, who has not lost this season to an opponent that is not currently ranked, upended No. 63 Dean Jackson in straight sets at the top spot, 6-4, 6-2.

Also winning for the hosts was Luca Barlocchi, who prevailed in a super-tiebreaker over Chris Coetzee 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3) on court three.

USD began the morning by taking two of three doubles matches for one team point. Winning for UNLV was the No. 2 team of Barlocchi and David Campbell, 8-5, over Jackson and Nils Schive.

UNLV is off until hosting UC Riverside on Feb. 23.
