LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's basketball team has just two regular-season home games left on its schedule and both will feature free giveaways to fans.
On Saturday, March 1, the Runnin' Rebels host TCU at 4 p.m., and the first 3,000 kids in attendance will receive a free team poster. The poster is sponsored by Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO) and 98.5 KLUC. Doors to the Thomas & Mack Center will open at 2:30 p.m. for that game.
The following Saturday, March 8, UNLV will host Utah at 1 p.m. for both teams' regular-season finale. The game will be a "White Out" for Senior Day and the first 6,000 fans in attendance will receive a free "White Out" T-shirt, courtesy of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, American Family Insurance, ESPN Radio 1100, Pepsi, KLAS Channel 8, Bank of America and The Equity Group.
Additionally, on March 8, the first 2,000 kids in attendance will get a free poster featuring UNLV's two seniors, Corey Bailey and Curtis Terry. The senior poster is sponsored by LEWCO Electric Company, KLAS Channel 8 and ESPN Radio 1100. Doors to the TMC for that game will open at 11:30 a.m.
All fans are encouraged to wear white to the Senior Day game as a show of support and spirit as UNLV bids a fond farewell to its seniors during their last regular-season home game.
"Last year's Senior Day was a lot of fun," UNLV Head Coach Lon Kruger said. "We had a huge crowd and everyone was wearing white. Senior Day is always a special occasion and we hope the fans come out and wear white next Saturday just as they did one year ago. Our two seniors have been great leaders for us this season and we are looking forward to acknowledging them just before tipoff that day."
Tickets for each of UNLV's remaining home games are $30 in the plaza and $14 in the balcony. As always, Rebel Fun Packs are available for just $50 and include four balcony tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas.
Last year's "White Out" for Senior Day brought in UNLV's largest home crowd since 1993 as 18,069 packed the Thomas & Mack Center to send off UNLV's seniors against Colorado State.
"I remember last year's 'White Out' and how great it was to send those seniors off in front of such a big crowd," Terry said. "I hope we can generate just as big of a crowd for our Senior Day. Our fans have been so much fun to play in front of this year and we definitely want to thank them for the tremendous support."
After Tuesday night's 68-58 victory over San Diego State, UNLV has matched last season's 27-game record of 21-6. The Runnin' Rebels are in second place in the Mountain West Conference with a 10-3 league mark, one game out of first. UNLV is 14-2 at home this season and has a 33-3 home mark at the Thomas & Mack Center over the last two seasons. Going back to the end of the 2005-06 season, UNLV has now won 19 straight home games against MWC opponents.
