SAN DIEGO - The 51st-ranked UNLV women's tennis team had no problem in downing Wyoming 6-1 in a neutral-site Mountain West Conference match staged at the Aztec Tennis Center Friday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 12-8 overall and 4-2 in league play while the Cowgirls fell to 10-10/1-5.

The afternoon started with UNLV taking all three doubles matches for one team point. The 48th-ranked duo of Elena Gantcheva and Kristina Nedeltcheva improved to 6-0 in MWC play with an 8-4 win at the top spot. Sharon Marin and Alisa Razina combined to win by the same score at No. 2 and Anna Masakljun and Katy Williams won 8-2 on court three. In singles, 35th-ranked Gantcheva won her fifth straight to move to 15-4 in dual matches and 25-10 overall as the senior downed Corina Lazar 6-1, 6-3.

Also winning in straight sets was Nedeltcheva at No. 2, Nikol Dimitrova at No. 3 and Williams at No. 5. Maskaljun needed a super-tiebreaker to win her match on court four for her team's final point of the day.

The Lady Rebels continue the final weekend of the regular season by facing Colorado State on Saturday in San Diego.
