Its A Golden Weekend In The Golden State

San Diego - UNLV has a golden weekend at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, with several student- athlete breaking personal records and the team adds another NCAA qualifying time.

Brittney Bullocks has a lifetime best performance in the 400 meters and a third place finish, with a time of 54.58 which also qualifies her for the NCAA regional championship. Lekeisha Lawson also ran a season best time in the 100 with a time of 11.58 and Lauren Johnson had a lifetime performance in the 200 with a time of 24.05. The 4X100 relay team also has another qualifying time running 45.66 which was good for a second place finish.

UNLV also had a sweep in the 3000 meter race with Jennifer Shearer, Bailey Kuestermeyer and Ashley Silva coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places with times of 10.06.06, 10:22.91 and 10:24.15.

"It was a very good weekend for us. We added another regional qualifier and had lots of personal records broken. This is going to help us have more confidence as we get closer to the championships," says head coach Yvonne Scott-Williams.

Next week the rebels have one final meet before the Mountain West Conference outdoor championship as they head to the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
