Las Vegas - With the final regular meet of the outdoor season upon us, UNLV heads to the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif., looking to prepare for the upcoming Mountain West Conference championship.
Joining UNLV at the invitational will be schools such as San Diego State, Long Beach State, UC Riverside and Sacramento State.
"We are really excited going into the last competition before MWC Championships. We are looking to add a few more regional qualifying marks and go into the championships with a boost of confidence," says head coach Yvonne Scott-Williams.
Student-athletes to look for are Lekeisha Lawson and Lauren Johnson in the 100 and 200 meters, Brittney Bullocks in the 400 meters, Charlotte Browning in the 800, and the 4X100 relay team.
"This meet will be another great opportunity to get some good competition and post improved marks," says Scott-Williams.
Events start on Saturday with the women's hammer throw at 2:00 p.m. (PT) On Sunday events begin at 10:00 a.m. with the women's pole vault and conclude at 4:30 p.m. with the men's 4X400 meter relay.
