Top-25 Rebels

Feb. 18, 2009

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's swimming and diving team has made its second all-time appearance in the Top-25 rankings, as the Rebels' record-breaking season has moved them up to No. 24 in the Feb. 12th edition of the CSCAA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

Thanks to impressive performances from its freshman and sophomore classes, the Rebels won a school-record 11 regular season dual meets, and currently stand at 11-1. UNLV has also won its second Mountain West Conference regular season championship with its first perfect season against league competition, going 5-0 this season.

The Rebels return to action at the end of the month in Oklahoma City, as UNLV is looking to take the title at the Mountain West Conference Championships for the fifth straight time. This year's league championship meet will run from Feb. 25-27.

The last time UNLV was ranked was in October of 2007, when the Rebels were No. 21 in the first poll of the year, but the team would drop out in the next edition of the top 25.
