March 21, 2009

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - UNLV's Zsuzsanna Jakabos and Amanda Weinbrecht both swam one event each on the final day of action at the 2009 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, held at Texas A&M's Student Rec Center Natatorium.

While both Rebel swimmers did not advance to the scoring finals, thanks to Jakabos' eighth-place swim on Friday night, UNLV finished in the team scoring for the first time since 2001, finishing 37th with 11 points. California won the team title with 411.5 points, while Georgia was second with 400 points.

Jakabos swam the 200 fly on Saturday, and placed 37th with a time of 1:59.61. Weinbrecht meanwhile swam 1:58.72 to finish in 51st in the 200 back.
