LAS VEGAS - The 69th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost at home for the first time this season, 5-2, at the hands of No. 25 Boise State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Friday.

The Lady Rebels fell to 6-4 overall and 6-1 in Las Vegas the season while the surging Broncos improved to 11-2.

UNLV lost a tough doubles point to start the morning. The top duo of Kristina Nedeltcheva and Katy Williams combined for an 8-6 win over 79th-ranked Pichitta Thongdach and Lauren Megale to improve their record to 13-4. However, the Lady Rebels lost a lead on court three and then fell in a deciding tiebreaker after wasting a match point opportunity at No. 2 to allow BSU to grab the momentum.

In singles play, the hosts got wins from Williams, who swept Vivien Silfany 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3, and Adrienn Hidvegi, who outlasted Klaudia Wlodarczyk on court five, 7-6, 6-7, 1-0 (10-2) to improve to 14-3. BSU's two ranked players won in straight sets at the top of the lineup and the visitors won first-set tiebreakers on courts four and six to help seal the victory.

UNLV looks to bounce back by hosting Nevada, Reno on Saturday beginning with doubles at 10 a.m. Admission is free of charge.
