LAS VEGAS - Sophomore standout Mehdi Bouras picked up his second ranked win of the weekend to close out the UNLV men's tennis spring invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The individual tournament included players from Alabama, Louisville, Indiana and the host Rebels.

Winning the top flight of singles, Bouras knocked off Alabama's 62nd-ranked Saketh Myneni 6-4, 6-2 to improve to 2-1 at the event and 12-6 on the year. The Rebels' other singles victory came from Attila Toth, who swept the Tide's Ricky Doverspike 6-1, 6-4. In doubles play, Bouras and Barlocchi combined for an 8-1 final-round win over Myneni and Michael Davis while Toth and his partner, Matthew Kunkel, won 8-5 over `Bama duo Doverspike and Ian Chadwell.

"This was a good weekend of matches against players from three very tough programs," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "It was good to see where we are and what we need to work on as we head into dual-match play. We got to try out different doubles combinations, which will help us set up our lineup for the spring."

The Rebels will open their team season on Jan. 22 by hosting Texas Tech.
