Rebels Debut At No. 18

Nov. 10, 2010

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's swimming team has earned its highest-ever national ranking, as the Rebels debut at No. 18 in the first TYR / CSCAA College Swimming & Diving Poll of the season, which was announced by the coaches' association on Wednesday.

UNLV is a perfect 3-0 on the season, including a season-opening win at Arizona, who is ranked 5th in the first poll. The Rebels also have wins this year over Arizona State and BYU, both of who received votes. In their most recent victory, a 172-122 win over BYU on Saturday in Las Vegas, the Rebels posted two of the fastest times in the nation this year, with David Szele in the 100 breast (54.94) and the 200 yard medley relay (1:28.42).

The Rebels will return to action on Nov. 18-20, when they travel to Long Beach, Calif., for the Arena Cup.
