Rebels Finish 27th At NCAA Regionals

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebel cross country team wrapped up its 2010 regular season at the NCAA West Regionals in Springfield, Ore., Saturday afternoon. UNLV finished 27th with a total of 774 points at the Springfield Country Club's 6k course.

UNLV's top three finishers moved into the Rebels all-time 6k performer list. Lauren Petersen ranks sixth on the career chart after running a time of 21:47.56, which placed her 90th at the regional. Sarah Muniz and Alison Bartosch own the seventh and 10th fastest performer spots with their times of 22:19.95 (129th) and 22:53.43 (171st), respectively.

Ali Motor placed 206th (23:58.27). Courtney Allen closed out UNLV's contingent of scoring runners in 209th (24:05.43). Samantha Swan did not score for UNLV, but finished 216th (24:52.22).

The event had a Pac-10 Conference flair to it with the top five finishing squads members of the league. Washington won the regional title with 73 points. The Huskies were followed closely by Oregon in second with its 77 points. Stanford (86 points), Arizona (90) and California (159) rounded out the quintet of Pac-10 finishers.
