Nov. 17, 2010

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's basketball program received a signed national letter of intent from Grandy Glaze this week to enroll at UNLV next fall and play for the Runnin' Rebels starting with the 2011-12 season, head coach Lon Kruger announced.

Glaze is a 6-foot-6-inch, 230-pound senior power forward from Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass. He averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds per game last year as a junior at Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H.

"We are really excited about the addition of Grandy to our program," said Kruger. "He brings a combination of power and energy that will help on both ends of the floor.

"Grandy has always exhibited a terrific team-first attitude. He will be a valuable addition to the team."

A Toronto, Canada native, Glaze has also played for Team Takeover Canada (AAU) and earned MVP honors at the All-Canada Basketball Camp a year ago.

"I am really excited about joining the Runnin' Rebel program," Glaze said. "I can't wait to get out there and get started with my new teammates. UNLV has a great tradition and I just want to help the program continue that. The coaching staff is amazing - I look at them as extended family members to me. Coach Kruger has coached a lot of great players, knows what it takes at the Division I level, and also has helped players get to the next level."
