LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV sophomore Cody Roberts has been named the Mountain West Conference Co-Men's Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced. It is the first weekly honor of his career, and he is the second Rebel to earn the honor this season.
Roberts, a native of West Richland, Wash., claimed the 100 fly title at the prestigious Arena Invitational this past weekend in Long Beach, Calif., in a meet record time of 47.47, the top time in the MWC this year and the second-best in the nation. He was also a part of first-place relays, including the 200 medley relay that kept its status as the nation's fastest with a time of 1:27.66, and the 400 free relay, which ranks third with a time of 2:57.57. Roberts also swam on the second-place 400 medley relay and the third-place 200 free relay.
The 18th-ranked UNLV men's squad is off until hosting the UNLV Winter Invitational, Dec. 11-13 in Buchanan Natatorium.
