LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's swimming team (3-0 overall, 1-0 MWC) posted the top time in the nation in two events and the No. 3 time in a third on the way to a 172-122 win over BYU, while the Rebel women (2-3, 1-1 MWC) lost to BYU 182-118 in a Mountain West Conference dual meet on Saturday afternoon from Buchanan Natatorium.

The very first event of the day for the Rebel men saw them post a time of 1:28.42 in the 200 medley relay, the fastest time in the nation thus far this season. Swimming on the relay was David Seiler, David Szele, Cody Roberts and Steven Nelms. The 200 free relay's winning time of 1:21.85 meanwhile is the third-fastest this year in the nation, thanks to the team of Nelms, Charlie Tapp, Roberts and Seiler. Szele also won the 100 breast in a time of 54.94, which currently ranks him No. 1 in the nation as well.

UNLV would win a total of 10 of the 16 events on the day, with Keir Maitland, Giacome Gremizzi and Nelms both winning two each. Maitland posted winning times in the 500 free (4:30.88) and 1000 free (9:23.28), while Nelms touched first in the 50 free (20.36) and the 100 fly (48.66) and Gremizzi won the 200 fly (1:50.71) and the 400 IM (3:56.58). The other win came from Andrew Morrell in the 200 breast (2:02.92).

Freshman Jessica Heim was the star for the Rebel women, winning a total of three events. She began by touching the wall in a time of 10:15.38 to win the 1000 free, placed first in the 500 free in 4:56.53, and won the 200 fly by .09 seconds, finishing first in 2:02.08. UNLV's Mariah Skeen added a win on the 1-meter board as well, with a score of 256.73.

Next up for UNLV will be a women's meet against MWC rival Colorado State on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 2 pm at Buchanan Natatorium.
