Dec. 16, 2010

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV track and field team had five individuals graduate with either their bachelor's or master's degree this past Tuesday at the fall commencement ceremonies.

Head coach Yvonne Scott and former student-athlete Bailey Kuestermeyer earned their master's of science degrees in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration.

"I am very proud to earn my graduate degree from UNLV and to have the opportunity to walk with some of my athletes," said Scott. "I believe that it shows them that continuing your education and constantly striving to excel and become better is what we are all about."

Kuestermeyer, a former Academic All-Mountain West Conference and MWC Scholar-Athlete in women's swimming, cross country and track and field, earned her bachelor's degree in hospitality management from UNLV in 2009.

The other graduates were; Candise Maxwell (bachelor's degree in criminal justice), Shahnel Woodley (bachelor's degree in social work) and Allyson Stone (bachelor's degree in communications).
