LAS VEGAS - The 56th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak snapped, 5-2, to No. 69 Oklahoma State Saturday on a windy afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels fell to 9-7 overall while the Cowboys improved to 5-4.

The hosts earned a 1-0 lead by winning two of three doubles matches. Bernard Schoeman and Johannes Markel teamed up for an 8-5 victory at the No. 2 slot while Kasper Konyves and Attila Toth won 8-6 on court three.

In singles, the nation's 15th-ranked player, Oleksandr Nedovyesov won the matchup at the top of the lineup, 6-3, 6-2 over UNLV's Mehdi Bouras. In fact, the only Rebel to win a singles match was Konyves on court six, 7-6, 6-1 over Maxi Kuhn.

"The guys came out and really played well in doubles on all three courts," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "But hats off to Oklahoma State for coming back in singles. Some of their players handled the high winds better than ours down the stretch. They are a very good team so we need to learn from today and move on."

UNLV is next in action on Wednesday when it hosts Iowa. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
