For the third time in four years, UNLV is a part of the NCAA Tournament and is the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region this year after earning an at-large bid to the Big Dance for the first time since 2000. The Runnin' Rebels, who advanced to the championship game of the Mountain West Conference Tournament (played in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center) last week, will open NCAA Tournament play on Thursday, March 18 against 24th-ranked and No. 9 seed Northern Iowa. The game is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. CDT/4:10 p.m. PDT and will be televised on CBS in high definition with Kevin Harlan and Dan Bonner calling the action. The Rebel radio call will be handled by Jon Sandler and Robert Smith on ESPN Radio 1100 AM in Las Vegas, while the national Westwood One Radio Network broadcast will be handled by Brad Sham and Reid Gettys. The game will also be available via video streaming, audio streaming and Gametracker through links at UNLVRebels.com. UNLV has won six of its last seven games and is 11-4 in its last 15. The Runnin' Rebels and Panthers have never faced each other in men's basketball.
