UNLV junior Kier Maitland earned Honorable Mention All-American honors thanks to his 10th place finish in the 1650 yard free on Sunday night, which helped the Rebels finish in a tie for 21st at the 2010 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championship meet was hosted by Ohio State in the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.

Maitland turned in a season-best time of 14:55.95 to claim 10th in the 1650 free. Thanks to his seven points in the event, UNLV finished the championships with 37 points to tie for 21st with Louisville. The 37 points and the 21st place team finish are both new program highs for UNLV men's swimming. Texas won the 2010 championship title with 500 points, while California was in second with 469.5 points.

In the morning preliminaries, David Seiler placed 31st in the 200 fly in a time of 1:47.51, while Andrew Morrell touched the wall in 1:59.7 in the 200 breast to finish 36th. UNLV missed out on a third top-16 relay finish of the meet by just one spot, as the Rebels' 400 free relay squad of Steven Nelms, Seiler, Cody Roberts and Morrell finished in 17th place in a time of 2:59.52.
