LAS VEGAS - The 59th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team improved its home record to 14-0 with a 4-3 win over No. 47 Boise State at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 14-2 overall with what was their 11th-consecutive victory, which also snapped the Broncos' own nine-match winning streak. The triumph also marked only the second time in history that the UNLV women won seven consecutive matches vs. ranked opponents. The 1997 squad won nine straight against ranked teams.

The morning began with a key doubles victory by the hosts after Boise State had entered the day having won doubles play in nine straight matches. The Broncos' 33rd-ranked duo won 8-4 at the top of the lineup before Alisa Razina and Anna Maskaljun won 8-4 at the second position. The point would come down to court three where Nives Pavlovic and Adrienn Hidvegi outlasted Elysse Edwards and Biancha Jochimsen 9-8 (7-5 in the tiebreaker).

The triumph would prove vital as the teams went on to split six singles matches. Maskaljun won 6-3, 6-2 over Edwards at No. 5 and, after BSU tied things at 2-2 with a pair of straight-set wins, Pavlovic outlasted Jochimsen 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 3 and Hidvegi clinched it with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Jasper on court four. The day ended with a battle of top-50 players and No. 48 Pichittra Thongdach outlasted 31st-ranked Lady Rebel star Kristina Nedeltcheva 6-2, 1-6, 6-4.

"This was a really good win today," said UNLV head coach Kevin Cory. "Boise State has a great team and we knew it was going to be a battle. The girls really competed well this week."

Next up, UNLV hits the road for the first time since late January with a challenging two-match trip to the Beehive State. The Lady Rebels, who are 1-0 in Mountain West Conference action, will play No. 46 Utah Wednesday and rival BYU Friday in two key league matchups.
