 | | UNLV Moderator: UNLV football fans, head coach Bobby Hauck's live chat will begin in a few minutes. You can still submit your questions and coach will answer as many as he can. |
 | | Bobby Hauck: One of our goals is to be a bowl team. With our schedule, that will be a difficult task. Certainly having back-to-back great recruiting years will help us attain that goal in the future. |
| Tim Las Vegas: First off being from Montana and being a Bobcat Fan forever I am very happy to have you Here (Give my Cats a chance)But Do you feel that UNLV could be a Bowl team (6 Wins) with the players you now have or do you think it could take a couple recruiting years to get to that level? |
| courtney: Do you think the team this year could have an equal chance against reno? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Nevada, Reno hung it on us pretty good last year. They are acknowledged as a potential BCS-buster team. We will need to improve to have a chance to win that game. |
| gman (Fairbanks, Alaska): As a UNLV grad that grew up in Reno and went to HS in Reno I have to ask- What are you going to do to get the cannon back? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Rivalry games are important and we will do everything we can in preperation for the UNR game to try and get the cannon back. |
| K.C. (Vegas): What are some of your goals for the team between the end of spring practice and the beginning of fall practice? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Our team will be together here in Las Vegas this summer. We need to get bigger, stronger and faster with our weight room and conditioning. We need to continue to improve our offense and defense with our summer throwing program. Our team will continue to develop as they spend the summer together on its own. |
| Brian Gilbert Arizona: Coach Hauck, What is your perception on recruiting football players to UNLV? (the positives, negatives and outlook for future classes) |
 | | Bobby Hauck: One of my biggest concerns in coming to UNLV was the ability to recruit to Las Vegas. I have been pleasantly surprised at the reception from prospects and their families, as well as how many people understand what a good city and university this is. |
| Matt (Las Vegas): Coach Hauck welcome to Las Vegas. Who has the bigger hill to climb, the offense or defense in adjusting to new schemes and philosophy? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: It is great to be in Las Vegas. I think our offense, defense and special teams all have great adjustment to make to our new scheme and philosophy. We are off to a good start with that right now in spring football. |
| Roy Elia, Walla Walla, Wash.: How do this year's spring practices compare with those you experienced at your previous stops? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: The weather is much better here. We have not had to cancel practice because of snow one time this spring. |
| Baltimore Fan.....: Hey Coach Hauck just want to know how's Courtney Bridget Jr. doing eastside kid gone west. Coach how will you be using Courtney Jr. this season. Been hearing he's going up for the starting spot great. The kid has been playing since age 5 yrs and I have been following him. Hope to see him against West Va. Oct. 9 we will be in the house for that one about 1000 Baltimore Marylanders will head up to see the REBELS. Coach Hauck hope all is well and again you have a player and Courtney Jr. |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Courtney is doing a nice job. He has been a little banged up, but is fighting through it. I am impressed with him. Looking forward to seeing some Rebel Red in the stands when we play West Virginia. |
| Gary Edwards (DeSoto TX): Who, in your opinion, is the front runner for the starting running back spot? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Whoever practices best today. |
| Christian (Las Vegas): Hey coach just want to let you know that I'm very excited for the "Hauck Era" to begin. I'm sure there's gonna be some growing pain, but have faith in your past coaching, that you can get the job done. Also because you look like a football coach who's not gonna take nothing from anyone, and a some toughness is not gonna hurt football players.. Best of Luck!! |
 | | Bobby Hauck: I am excited to be here as well. Our assistant coaches are doing a great job and our players are improving almost daily. I hope we can become a tough, physical football team. |
| Jordan (Las Vegas): Coach, I notice a lot of players have moved positions during spring ball. What player do you think will have the biggest impact at his new position? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: I am not sure who will have the biggest impact at a new position. Our goal is to get our best 11 players on each side of the ball onto the field and to be able to play into our two-deep at a level we can win at. |
| robert-amarillo texas: thank u so much for recruiting in texas! please keep on recruiting in the lone star state. |
 | | Bobby Hauck: We had great success recruiting in Texas this past winter. I can't wait to go back. |
| Cooper (Huntington Beach): What are your tenets for being a successful head coach? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Hard work, toughness and discipline. |
| Randall (Las Vegas): What will be the primary differences on offense vs past years |
 | | Bobby Hauck: We will be similar because that is what our personnel dictates we need to do. |
 | | UNLV Moderator: Coach has time for a couple more questions before getting ready for practice this afternoon. |
| linda portland oregon: is a typiclal pregame meal for ur team a delicious 16 oz sirloin strip toast honey green peas and ice tea? i wish u the best i am getting hungry! |
 | | Bobby Hauck: My mother forced me to eat peas as a child, so there will never be a green pea served at a team meal. |
| Los Angeles: Do you think it is going to be hard to prepare for a stadium as loud and big as West Virginia's? |
 | | Bobby Hauck: We play at many loud places of which West Virginia is one. We will have to be prepared for the noise as best we can. |
| Larry (Missoula): Hi Bobby. This is Larry M. at St Joe's in Missoula. we wish you the best of luck down in Vegas. The fish are biting up here! |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Larry, our schedule does look extremely tough but we are working hard. Send fish pictures! |
 | | Bobby Hauck: Thanks for all the questions. I had a great time with the chat. Looking forward to seeing everyone out at our spring scrimmage this Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium. The scrimmage starts at noon and there is a BBQ afterwards. Thanks again and Go Rebels! |
 | | UNLV Moderator: That wraps up our chat. Thanks again for all the great questions. |
