Rebels Head To Sun Angel Classic

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's track and field team returns to action this weekend, traveling to compete in the 31st annual Sun Angel Track Classic, which will be held at Sun Angel Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University.

The Rebels will open up competition Friday at the two-day meet, with the women's hammer kicking off the meet at 12:00 p.m. (PT), while Saturday's action starts with the women's discus at 9:00 a.m., while the first running event is the high hurdles at 11:50 a.m. UNLV will be sending a contingent of roughly 20 student-athletes to the meet.

UNLV is part of a field that includes six ranked teams in No. 6 Penn State, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 12 BYU, No. 14 Auburn and No. 17 Arizona. In all, a total of close to 30 collegiate men's and women's teams will converge on Tempe for the meet. There will also be several former Olympians competing in the meet as individuals.
