LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's track and field had a program-record 12 student-athletes on the 2010 Spring Academic All-MWC team, the league announced this week.
The previous high for the program was 11.
There were five repeat selections on the squad: Zadia Bryant, Chauncey David-Jacobs, Deja Edwards, Christine Lowe and Lindsay Roach, and seven first-time recipients: Emily Blok, LaShanté Ellison, Jennifer Johnson, Bailey Kuestermeyer, Lauren Petersen, Kelsey Williamson and Brett Zorich.
To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MWC team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team.

The MWC Scholar-Athlete Award is the highest academic honor bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in an NCAA-sponsored sport.
Samantha Swan (Freshman, 3.95, Hospitality Management) was also named a MWC Scholar-Athlete.
