LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball will host two summer camps this August, known as the Rebel Baseball Academy. The camps, which will be held at Earl E. Wilson Stadium, will be directed by the UNLV baseball's coaching staff, including new head coach Tim Chambers.

The first camp will be the Youth Instructional Camp, which will be held Friday, Aug. 13 to Sunday, Aug. 15 (8 am - 1 pm each day). This camp will offer an opportunity for players ages 6-14 to receive valuable instruction on the fundamental skills of baseball. The staff will focus on teaching efficient mechanics for throwing, hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, base running and the mental aspects of the game. Campers will be made aware of the characteristics that define successful baseball players.

Organized games between campers will provide a competitive outlet after specific drills have been practiced. Contests built into drills capture the learner's attention, which results in attentive practice. Drill progressions will be aimed towards recognizing and developing good habits in all aspects of the game. General courtesy, respect for teammates and opponents and the importance of hard work will be taught to the campers through example by the UNLV coaching staff.

The next camp will be the High School Showcase Camp, which will be held Friday, Aug. 20 to Saturday, Aug. 21 (8 am - 1 pm each day). This campis for high school baseball players looking for valuable instruction to take their game to the next level, or are looking to showcase their talents to the new coaching staff at UNLV as well as other college coaches. The Rebel Baseball Academy Showcase is open to any and all applicants from the ages of 14 to 18 years old but spaces are limited.

Participants will be divided into teams as coaches watch and evaluate their performance in multiple game settings. Additionally two 9 inning games will be played on Saturday morning and/or Saturday evening with a pregame BP and IN and Out session before each game. Spaces are limited so your registration must be received as soon as possible to secure your spot.
