LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 2010-11 UNLV men's basketball Mountain West Conference schedule, along with many of its television appearances and most game times, was released on Wednesday by the athletics department. The Runnin' Rebels' non-conference schedule was released in May.

UNLV will open conference play this year with a pair of home games, starting with BYU at the Thomas & Mack Center on Wed., Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. and TCU on Sat., Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. The Runnin' Rebels' first league road game will be on Wed., Jan. 12, as they travel to San Diego State for a 7 p.m. game.
Four of UNLV's first six MWC games will be played at home and five of its first eight overall will be at the Thomas & Mack Center. UNLV will only have three games at home over its final eight regular-season conference matchups and three of its last four games will be played on the road.
The Runnin' Rebels will play on television at least 23 times this season and of those appearances that are set, 11 will be shown on the The Mtn., four on CBS College Sports, another four on VERSUS and one on ESPN2. The ESPN family of networks will be televising the 76 Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. Matchups, times and TV appearances for that tournament will be announced on Thurs, Aug. 5 (tomorrow).
The 2010-11 season marks the second straight year that UNLV will have every game of its MWC schedule televised. The only one that will not be shown live will be Wed., Feb. 9 at TCU, but it will be shown via tape delay later that night.
UNLV's first televised game of the year will be its home game against Wisconsin on Sat., Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. on VERSUS. The Runnin' Rebels will also have their non-conference game against Southern Utah on Sat., Dec. 18 shown on The Mtn., and their non-conference road game against Kansas State in Kansas City, Mo., shown on ESPN2 on Tues., Dec. 21.
The remainder of the game times and any additional television appearances will be released upon confirmation.
UNLV finished the 2009-10 season with an overall record of 25-9 and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four years.
In 2010-11, head coach Lon Kruger will be in his seventh season as head coach of the Runnin' Rebels. He has a six-year record of 137-62 (.688) leading the UNLV men's basketball program. Since the start of the 2006-07 season, the Runnin' Rebels have turned in a record of 103-35 (.746).
