LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The host Rebels picked up three singles victories and a doubles win during the first day of the UNLV Men's Tennis Fall Invitational on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

With players from Kentucky, Fresno State and Pepperdine in town, UNLV got wins from Johannes Markel over Kentucky's Brad Cox, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6; Charlie Alvarado over Kentucky's Matt Davis, 6-4, 6-2; and newcomer Kyle Lynch over UK's Chris Leeper 6-2, 6-1.

Also, the Rebel doubles team of Mehdi Bouras and Bernard Schoeman won 8-4 over the Wildcat duo of Cox and Anthony Rossi.

Round two is scheduled for Saturday and the final round is Sunday.
