LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels cross country team opens up its 2010 season Saturday afternoon (1:30 pm) with a trip to Flagstaff, Ariz., for Northern Arizona's George Kyte Invitational, which is to be held at Buffalo Park. The Invite is the first of five competitions that the harriers will participate in this season.

Joining the Rebels for the 5K race in Flagstaff are the host NAU, Arizona State, Arizona, Grand Canyon, Western New Mexico, West Florida, Central Arizona Community College, Glendale Community College, Mesa Community College, Pima Community College and Scottsdale Community College.

"This is a great opening meet where we will experience similar conditions to what we will face in Laramie (Wyo.) for the Mountain West Conference Championships," noted UNLV cross country head coach Tony Houchin. "I am very excited about this team and what we are going to accomplish this year."

Houchin's roster will be comprised of seniors Lucy Beuster, Sarah Muniz and Shannon Sampson, juniors Alison Bartosch and Jamie Fratto, sophomores Courtney Allen, Ali Motor, Lauren Petersen and Samantha Swan.
