LAS VEGAS - The 66th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team evened its record at 1-1 with a 7-0 whitewash of Weber State in the first of two matches Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The Rebels began the morning by taking all three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. Mehdi Bouras and Bernard Schoeman won 8-1 at No. 1, Rene Ruegamer and Alex Bull won 8-4 at No. 2 and Charlie Alvarado and Kasper Konyves won their match 8-2 on court three.
Bouras swept Simon Unger 6-2, 6-4 at the top position of singles. Also scoring for the hosts were Ruegamer at No. 2, Tomas Batyi at No. 3, Schoeman at No. 4, Bull at No. 5 and Alvarado on court six.
