LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels track and field team hit the road for the second straight weekend with a trip to Nampa, Idaho for the Jacksons Invitational/New Balance West indoor meet hosted by Boise State this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 28-29). The meet will be held at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center and will include both collegiate and high school events.
The multi-events will be held from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, with individual field events beginning at 4:00 pm and track events starting at 5:15 pm. On Saturday, both track and field events begin at 9:00 am.
UNLV will have three student-athletes participate in Friday's pentathlon with newcomers Rita Rudell and Taylar Mills joining senior Talyah Polee.
The Rebels will also have participants in the 60m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, triple jump and long jump portions of the meet.
"The throwers will take this weekend off, but the sprinters, hurdlers, jumpers and distance runners will be looking to make improvements on the track," said head coach Yvonne Scott. "We are also looking for good performances from both the distance medley relay and the 4x4 relay teams, as this is their first showing of the season."
Joining the Rebels and host Boise State Broncos in Nampa on the collegiate side will be: BYU, Utah State, Eastern Washington, Lewis-Clark, Northwest Nazarene, College of Idaho, Whitworth, Central Washington, Eastern Oregon and Treasure Valley Community College.
