LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV tennis players won both the Mountain West Conference men's (Mehdi Bouras) and women's (Aleksandra Josifoska) Player of the Week awards, the league announced Wednesday.

For Bouras, it was the third time this season and fourth time in his career that he was honored by the MWC. Ranked a career-high 76th in the nation by the ITA, the senior won two singles matches at the top of the lineup as UNLV dropped a pair of 4-3 matches. On Friday against Oklahoma State, Bouras downed Maniel Bains 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. On Sunday vs. UC Irvine, he upset 59th-ranked Chris Kearney 7-6, 7-6 to extend his winning streak to five matches.

The Rebels (8-5) will be back in action on Friday when they host Fresno State beginning with doubles at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV tennis matches is free of charge.
