LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebel track and field team heads to Claremont McKenna College for the Cal-Nevada Championships taking place this Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27 in Claremont, Calif. UNLV will have 20 student-athletes participate in the two-day event that has the trials slated for Saturday and the finals on Sunday.
"This is a great early season meet to challenge the team in scored competition," said head coach Yvonne Scott. "The goal is to get to the finals and be in a position to score towards the overall team total. Although we are leaving behind our throwers so that they have a weekend off to train, we should fare well as a team in several of the sprints, hurdles, and jumping events this weekend."
