Mt. SAC Relay Results
VS Athletics Beach Invitational Results
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebel track and field team participated in the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays and the VS Athletics Beach Invitational in Southern California this weekend. A contingent of the squad competed in Walnut at the Relays, while the other performers went to Norwalk for the Invitational. Both meets were comprised of all comers from international, club, collegiate and prep athletes.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, Emily Blok finished fifth in the 200m with a personal-best time of 24.04 on Friday and ran the second leg of the "A" quarter's fourth-place showing in the 4x100m relay (46.00). Lindsay Roach, Davina Collins and Secoral Yanez joined Blok on the relay squad. Blok also had an impressive 11.97 effort in the 100m.
Collins also had a personal-best time of 24.66 in the 200m, while running 12.20 in the 100m. Yanez followed closely behind Collins in both the 100m (12.28) and 200m (24.93). Roach was slightly better than her teammates in the 200m (24.61).
The Rebels had three perform well in their respective hammer throw events. On Friday, Chelsea Cassulo was fourth in the U/O event 199-8 (60.86m), while Amanda Bingson was the top collegiate performer in the Invite Elite classification. Bingson tossed a 218-9 (66.72m), which was eighth-best overall. LaShante Ellison notched a personal-best with a 52.48 throw.
At the Beach Invitational, Deja Edwards and Talyah Polee finished third (18-9.25/5.85m) and eighth (17-9.75/5.57m), respectively, in the long jump.
Kelsey Williamson came in fifth in the 400m (54.84) after running a 54.69 (PB) a day earlier at the Relays.
Erin Straughter was sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.16 (PB) just a day after running a 1.4.68 at the Relays.
Also, Ali Bartosch, Lauren Petersen and Adrianna Oliva improved their personal bests in their events. Bartosch ran a 4:38.84 in the 1500m, while Petersen had a time of 17:41.57 in the 5000m. Oliva's feat came on the field with her 44-0 (13.41M) throw in the shot put.
